Before-Your-Trip Checklist

Parents and Campers! Before you leave for camp we want to make sure that you and your camper are prepared for their adventure! Please see the checklist below and ensure that each part is completed.
Please don’t forget the Trip-Specific points at the bottom.

When Your Trip Is Confirmed

  • Medications – Make sure that your camper’s medical information on their Campminder forms is accurate and updated.
  • Packing List – Make sure that your camper is prepared for success by looking through OUR PACKING LIST!
  • Familiarize Your Camper with Their Gear – Make sure your camper knows what they have with them and how to use the gear that they have.
  • Exercise – Ensure that your camper is physically prepared for the trip. Regular exercise throughout the week will greatly improve your camper’s confidence and ability.
  • Hiking Boots – Please make sure to break in new hiking boots before taking them on the trail. Wear them to school a few times, around the house, or take a few family hikes!

Before You Leave

  • Check Gear – Double check to make sure gear isn’t left behind.
  • Medications – Make sure that the correct medications and the correct amounts are brought with the camper. As a summer camp, we can only accept medications in their original containers.
  • Medical Information – If there have been any recent changes to your camper’s medical information please let us know via email or phone.

Trip-Specific

When Your Trip Is Confirmed

Horses:

  • Liability Waiver – We contract our horses and horse packers through Trail Brothers. They have an additional liability waiver for you to look at and sign, which we send to you in an email.
  • Experience Survey – We will contact you with a short survey regarding your camper’s riding experience. This helps us gauge the comfort level of your camper as well as pairing them with a horse that matches their skill level.

Climbing:

  • Experience Survey – We will contact you with a short survey regarding your camper’s climbing and backpacking experience. This helps us gauge the comfort level of your camper as well as engaging them with routes appropriate to their skill level.

Backpacking:

  • Experience Survey – We will contact you with a short survey regarding your camper’s backpacking experience. This helps us gauge the comfort level of your camper as well as helping us know if your camper is looking for a new experience or more skills to add onto what they already know.
