Camp Augusta’s Wilderness Program offers the opportunity for children and teens to adventure and play in the outdoors, create memories, and challenge themselves both physically and mentally in an awe inspiring setting. Our wilderness trips combine the beauty of the outdoors with the social-emotional development practices of Camp Augusta. Not only could your child wake up on a bluff overlooking the sunrise, they may have the sounds of a ukulele to accompany the site. Days of physical challenge culminate around the campfire discussing the progression of the trip as well as the challenges, rewards, and our relation to world that such an adventure inspires, in our evening embers discussions. Our custom trips offer campers the opportunity to create an outdoor adventure, lasting memories, and chances for personal growth with a group of their friends in a whole new way. We, the wilderness staff and office elves, work with parents and campers to create and facilitate a wilderness adventure that meets the desired experiences and challenge levels of your campers. Custom trips encourage choice and leadership as campers play a role in deciding the style of adventure, location and level of challenge, and, ultimately, in designing their own experience.

Challenge
Dependent on campers’ experience and desired level of challenge. Whether this looks like distance and elevation hiked in a day, climbing routes chosen, rapids rafted, or time spent in the saddle,  we aim to match a group with a location and itinerary that meet the goals of the group
